Unlike other manufacturers, our bases are designed to center the seat as much as possible with respect to the steering wheel position, always within the possibilities of each body, bucket design, etc.
Since they are designed to be fixed directly to the body without modifications, we need a specific measurement of the seat anchoring area to ensure that, once the bases are screwed to the bucket, they continue to coincide with the body anchoring points.
It is important to note that the measurement we need is the width between anchors and NOT THE TOTAL WIDTH OF THE SEAT. By knowing the width between anchors, we can manufacture the bases accordingly so that their installation is direct, simple and without modifications.
The bases are manufactured with a certain adjustment margin, since depending on whether the car has carpet or not, the positioning of the bases can vary slightly, which is why they are always manufactured within an adjustment range of X centimeters depending on the model. In each of the advertisements, the base options to choose from depending on the width of the seat are listed.
IMPORTANT:
XL backet models do not sit centered on the steering wheel due to their size.
As a general rule, only seats compatible with bases 375-395 and 395-420 are centered on the steering wheel.
If your seat is wider or size L/XL, keep in mind that it will not be perfectly centered on the steering wheel.
Normally, by entering the bucket model, manufacturer and size into Google, we can find out the width between anchors in a graph or illustration from the manufacturer itself, but if we do not have this measurement, we can always measure our own seat at home.
If we measure it ourselves, this is how it should be done correctly:
X.- Position the seat on a flat surface and place an angle, square or ruler on each side. The upper tip of the angle should just touch the thread where the base would be screwed to the bucket and the lower surface of the angle should be flat with respect to where we have the seat supported. Once we have everything positioned, we take the interior distance and thus we will know which of the available models is the one we need.
You should bear in mind that bucket seats are not usually completely flat in this area and that is why it is important to use a flat surface as a reference. If we position the brackets or angles following the shape of the seat, we will get an incorrect measurement as shown in the following images. If the measurement is incorrect, and you select bases that do not match the actual measurement, you may have problems when installing the seat and the holes may not match the anchors to the bodywork, having to use washers or make new holes for its installation.
If in doubt, it is best to contact us, as the bases are manufactured as the order is received and RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ARE NOT MADE.
