Approximate installation time: 1.5 hour/s.
Necessary tools: Drill, 3 or 3.5mm drill bit, Phillips screwdriver, socket wrenches or hexagonal and allen keys.
Installation difficulty: Easy (basic mechanical knowledge)
As you'll see, the installation is quite simple, but it requires some patience and checking that everything is in place to ensure everything is as it should be. Don't rush and make sure you follow the steps. Proper installation always guarantees a better result.
The first thing we need to do is identify the screws and hardware.
For the front panels:
x20 Sheet metal screws.
x2 strap handles to close the door.
x2 moldings.
x2 pre-assembled door cable couplings together with the handle or "strap" to open.
+ Remaining M4 screws needed for the door moldings.
---
For the rear panels:
x Short sheet metal screws.
x2 Long 4.2x32mm self-tapping screws for the strap puller bushing + spacer.
x2 strap handles to close the door.
x2 moldings.
x2 pre-assembled door cable couplings together with the handle or "strap" to open.
+ Remaining M4 screws needed for the door moldings.
-----------------
The first step is to remove our OEM panel from the car. Once we have the area exposed, the first thing we need to do is install the coupling for the strap that will open the door. Installation is extremely simple as it has been designed so that the OEM cable itself fits perfectly into our coupling. Since the Strap is already pre-assembled, you only need to tighten the 6mm screw that secures the cable.
Once the coupling is installed, we proceed to install the molding on the panel and move everything to the door. It's extremely important to ensure everything is centered. Once positioned, mark the holes and then drill holes in the door. A 3.5mm drill bit is recommended.
In the case of the front panels, the black strap (for closing) goes with a short screw like the rest, but in the case of the rear panels, we install the bushings in the following way with the longer self-tapping screws and we take advantage of this same anchor point to fix the strap that we will use to pull the door in the same way that you can see in the following image:
At this point, it's just a matter of screwing in the rest of the screws, both front and rear panels, leaving the straps sticking out of their corresponding slots, as well as the one we'll use to open, which will stick out of the center molding of the door.
It's important to keep in mind that the strap will open the door by pulling it forward, not toward the interior of the car. Make sure the heads of the coupling bolts are flush with the "wall" of the trim so they slide properly and don't hit the nuts.
If the installation is performed as directed, the result will be as shown in the images and everything will work properly. Remember that no modifications or other modifications are required, so if you get stuck on any of the steps or something isn't right, please contact us before continuing, and we'll be happy to help!
Take photos, share them, and send them to us, as they are always great for sharing and updating the ones on the website!
Thank you so much for your order!
